We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Brisbane City Council Creative Sparks grant for our program “Brush and Bow – Art + Music”.  We will play a selection of exquisite chamber works by Australian composers, with TWO new works commissioned for the project by Dr Thomas Green and Rachel Merton.

On Friday 23 August at 6pm at Corinda Bowls Club, artists will paint in response to this music, whilst audience members observe, absorb and relax into the atmosphere of this low-key Friday night event.  Our featured guest is wonderful abstract painter Jane Thompson.

On Saturday 24 August at 7pm in the iconic Graceville Central Uniting Church, the same works will be performed alongside projections of art by professional painter Kate Marek.

Our aim with “Brush and Bow” is to start conversations about how we experience both art and music in the 21st century; and how cross-artform projects could be our path to surviving and flourishing.
